Manuscript letter signed “Jas Monroe” as Governor of Virginia, May 28, 1800, Richmond, addressed “His Excellency the Governor of New York” - being John Jay at the time, in full:
I have the honor to transmit to your Excellency a copy of the acts which passed at the last session of the General Assembly of this Commonwealth; and to be, with great respect, your Excellency’s most obed. Servant
In fantastic condition - some handling wear and folds but signature and all writing are quite bold.
