Typed letter signed “Jimmy Carter”, April 10, 1989, personal stationery, unbelievably addressed to “His Excellency / Dr. Fidel Castro Ruz / President of the Council of State / of the Republic of Cuba / Havana”. Letter of introduction for Wayne Smith, who was the Founder and Director of the Friendship Force.
A superb association since Carter was the first US President to meet Castro in Cuba.
Accompanied by original mailing envelope, not postally used as the letter was most likely shown to Castro in person by Smith.
