Jimmy Stewart 1938 Typed Letter Signed – To A Young Member of His Fan Club

$275.00

Famed American actor.

Typed letter signed “Jimmy Stewart”, December 12, 1938, personal stationery, to Mary Trenor, a young girl who was an ardent fan of Stewart and an active member of his fan club, in full:

Yes, I’ll autograph a booklet, if you send it in – I’d be very glad to. I think your sketches are very good indeed.

‘Ice Follies’ is nearly finished, now, – it’s taken much longer than was originally expected, but it should wind up towards Christmas time. Then comes ‘Hands Across the Border.’

Now here’s something of a request on my side. I’ve been wanting for some time to make an air picture, but so far the studios haven’t assigned me one. So I’m asking a group of friends, pen-friends I mean, and fan-club members to write to two of the story heads of MGM Studios to ask that I be given such a picture soon. The two men are Mr. Edward Knopf and Mr. Bennie Thau, both are of the MGM Studios, – and if you have time to drop them a line and ask for such a picture for me, I’d appreciate it.

I hope you have a grand Christmas and New Year.

Mailing folds, a few stray marks, else fine.
